THE PERFECT FINISHED PRODUCT
When we say we are the best in the business, we mean it. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter putting green installations. Dakota Putting Greens has mastered the art and science of artificial turf installation. Our partners have designed and installed more than 6,000 golf greens worldwide as backyard putting greens, luxurious golf courses, and more.
Here’s a quick glance at how our artificial grass and putting green installation process works:
-
Step 1
A base of crushed aggregate, which, unlike concrete, can be moistened and molded to form challenging breaks and undulations.
-
Step 2
Next, we install at least a 1/4 inch cushion pad that helps ball roll and shot absorption, then comes our 1 1/8 inch state-of-the-art polypropylene turf material is used to replicate the vibrant green color, softness, and playability of real grass.
-
Step 3
The turf is then in-filled with a formulation of fine-coated silica sand to give it the touch and feel of natural grass.
-
Step 4
Finally, the tops are rolled to create the effect of a true bent grass green. Options include the installation of first and second cuts fringe, sand traps, bunkers, fairways, and roughs.
SMART. EASY. COOL.
HYDROCHILL®
We’re proud to deliver and install turf that saves families and businesses time and money—allowing you to focus on the things that matter most. With our advanced HydroChill® cooling technology, we’ve taken on summertime heat in a smart and easy way. A simple addition to the turf’s infill provides an average cooling range of 30-50 degrees and works naturally when hydrated by irrigation, rainfall, and dew.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
EVAPORATIVE COOLING TECHNOLOGY
Perspiration is a natural means of thermoregulation called evaporative cooling. Evaporation of moisture from the skin’s surface has a cooling effect. Similarly, HydroChill has been shown to cool synthetic turf surfaces by working on the same principle. As the turf surface is heated by solar radiation, moisture stored in the HydroChill turf is released. Evaporating moisture removes heat, leaving a cooler, more comfortable surface for the players.
- HydroChill utilizes moisture to provide a cooling effect. Rainfall, dew, and irrigation can help keep your lawn cool for days, depending on local conditions
- HydroChill can be incorporated into most Dakota Putting Greens’ infilled lawn systems
- HydroChill will not affect the durability or warranty of Dakota Putting Greens’ products
- HydroChill is UV-resistant and should be re-treated every two years for maximum effectiveness
WHEN IS IT MOST EFFECTIVE?
Ambient temperature outside doesn’t necessarily dictate surface temperature. The solar radiation time period, the sun’s angle, cloud cover, wind, and other elements all contribute to the temperature of the surface.
HydroChill provides maximum benefit when the sun is nearest the Earth, as shown in the solar radiation calendar. During the summer months in the U.S., the sun is positioned overhead causing surfaces to absorb more energy resulting in hotter temperatures. The rotation of the Earth is also responsible for hourly variations in sunlight, thus making HydroChill most effective during the hotter part of a clear day when most needed.
DO MORE WITH LESS
Synthetic turf allows you to get more out of your property. Turn your space into an inviting place. You can do more in the same space with synthetic turf than you can do with natural grass.
